Yasmine Aarts (2001)

I am a versatile animation artist with a strong desire to experiment, illustrate, and design.

I would describe my work as energetic and whimsical. Not afraid to make mistakes, I often leave a rough touch to my work, adding to the authenticity. I let myself get inspired by accidents and uncertainty. As a filmmaker, I focus on a particular emotion or atmosphere conveyed with appropriate mixed media techniques and analog materials. My films often contain themes of identity and femininity.

I have great interests in (art) direction, animation and VJing. I love being surrounded by other passionate animators and illustrators, I still have a lot to learn and I am constantly growing!

Currently studying 2D Animation at HKU University of the Arts Utrecht.
